Fourteen Youngstown State University students seeking the Nonprofit Leadership Minor and/or Certificate recently participated in a Regional Case Study Exercise at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
The Case Study dealt with internal and external marketing for special exhibitions in the museum and the conversion of people visiting the museum for free that would pay to visit a special exhibition.
While 14 students participated, three students served as the Presentation Team – Marcy Angelo, Hubbard; Jennifer Heitger, Struthers; and Emily Young, Boardman.
“I truly enjoyed interacting with the students from Youngstown State University,” said Aaron Petersal, director of Visitor Experience and host/coordinator from the Cleveland Museum of Art. “They were able to provide us with a fresh, different perspective and offer validation for ideas we were currently working on while presenting us with new ideas for consideration.”
Laura Dewberry, director of the YSU Center for Nonprofit Leadership, added: “We plan this Regional Case Study Exercise for our students studying Nonprofit Leadership because it gives them the opportunity to work as consultants, and collaborate with each other to provide solutions to real world challenges at a large, established nonprofit organization.”
