Youngstown State University sophomores Erik Glasgow of Warren and Andrik Massaro of Canfield will represent YSU in the American Collegiate Moot Court Association’s National Tournament, set for Jan. 16-17 in Miami, Fla.
Massaro and Glasgow, both political science majors, qualified to compete in the national event when their two-person team placed third in the ACMCA’s regional tournament at the College of Wooster in late November. Massaro also won an Individual Orator award at the regional tournament.
In total, 16 YSU students competed in the regional contest. It is the sixth consecutive year that YSU has qualified a team to compete in the association’s highly selective national tournament.
Florida International University College of Law will host the competition in Miami, where YSU’s delegation will face competition from schools such as the University of Chicago, the University of Virginia, Duke University, and the College of Wooster.
Massaro and Glasgow competed at the regional tourney in 2013 as freshmen, and theirs was YSU’s first freshman team ever to qualify for the national moot court tourney.
