YSU student Andrew Bull’s summer internship will be more than just fetching coffee and learning the ropes. On his own initiative, the Poland resident discovered Art in Tanzania, a part of UNICEF, where he will be volunteering for five weeks. As an exercise science major with sights set on graduate school in the field of global health, a program that offered opportunities for working with the HIV clinic as well as health awareness programs and clinic work seemed ideal.
A graduate of the Youngstown Christian Academy, Bull will be traveling to Dar es Salaam Tanzania May 31, where he will work six days a week,with a group safari planned as a local excursion.
“I decided to intern abroad because there is no better way to understand global needs and health concerns then to travel to these destinations and experience them first hand,” said Bull. “I hope to utilize all of the knowledge I have garnered during my time as an exercise science student and will definitely be relying on much of the information I learned about clinical populations.”
